
Michele Feinberg MD
Dr. Feinberg is double boarded in Adult and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry. Licensed in Connecticut and Florida. She has been practicing Psychiatry for over 20 years. She has experience working in multiple settings in the mental health field, including community mental health facilities, child guidance centers, juvenile justice system, school districts, and private practice. She completed her adult psychiatry training at the University of Connecticut Medical Center and her child and adolescent fellowship at the Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital. She was the President of of the residency council in her adult residency program, and served as Chief Resident in her child and adolescent fellowship program. She is currently on the executive board for the CT Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, as a member at large and served as the treasurer/secretary. She was awarded the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outstanding General Psychiatry Resident Award and the Roger Coleman Memorial Award for Service to Patients. Dr. Feinberg loves being able to make a difference in the lives of children and their families by intervening at an early age when there are concerns with one’s mental health. Dr. Feinberg specializes in psychopharmacology and treats depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety disorders, mood lability, mood dysregulation, aggression, disruptive behavior, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia, school refusal and anxiety around school. Dr. Feinberg provides a thorough diagnostic evaluation and will provide a diagnosis, recommendations for treatment, and medication management if needed. Dr. Feinberg uses biological, psychological, and social factors to provide your child’s diagnosis. Dr. Feinberg will collaborate with your existing therapist or recommend a new therapist if needed, to provide effective treatment. Dr. Feinberg will also collaborate with your child’s school staff and pediatrician when needed. Dr. Feinberg can order genomic testing to determine what medications may be effective for your child, if medication is indicated. Dr. Feinberg now prescribes the innovative FDA cleared non-medication treatment option for children (7-12) with ADHD called the Monarch eTNS system.
